The Teaching Kids to CARE program offers teachers standards-based thematic lesson plans on the environment. Through these engaging activities, we will set the foundation to create and motivate a generation of environmental stewards.
The home environment plays one of the most important roles in environmental education for children. Parents can use these simple ideas to reinforce the positive habits that the Teaching Kids to CARE program creates for the benefit of the planet.
Over the past ten years, DoubleTree by Hilton has helped mentor more than five million grade school students in more than 200 cities worldwide as part of the Teaching Kids to CARE program. Each year the message remains the same—when we come together, individual caring efforts for our communities can make a meaningful difference for the entire world. As we enter a new decade, our vision centers around helping kids care for the planet. Through our environmental education initiative for children, we show kids how just one small action can create a collective and positive difference to change our environment for the better.
As a result of teachers’ efforts, the DoubleTree by Hilton Teaching Kids to CARE sustainability program for kids has been recognized with more than 40 awards from prominent hospitality and marketing associations for developing one of the most successful community outreach efforts undertaken by a worldwide travel company.
